People are the undisputed experts on themselves. No one has been with them longer, or knows them better than they do themselves.
-Bill Miller, Motivational Interviewing (3rd Edition)
Do you ever find yourself trying to convince other people to make a change, only to walk away feeling stuck, frustrated, de-energized, and like nothing ever actually changes? Then maybe Motivational Interviewing (MI) is for you.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a powerful approach that can transform how you and your team engage with people, encouraging their intrinsic motivation for change. By participating in our specialized training, you will learn evidence-based techniques that promote collaborative dialogue and allow you to empower others to explore their motivations and challenges effectively.
MI, initially a counseling approach, is now vital for conversations in all of healthcare as well as fields such as education, corrections, sports, and business. So no matter your profession, our adaptable workshops will help you elevate conversational outcomes and deepen connections with the people you serve. Join us to enhance your relational skills in a supportive space with peers dedicated to helping others.

This is a common request, and I am happy to discuss organization-wide training options. All trainings are customized to meet the unique needs of the organization.

I typically accept 10-15 people per training. For larger organizations, more people may be accepted; however, this may require an additional trainer or a series of training sessions. I’m always happy to discuss the options for your specific organization.

There are no prerequisites for attendance. Workshops are self-contained and appropriate even if you’ve never heard of Motivational Interviewing.

-
Yes. In fact, I typically recommend that after an initial workshop, organizations form coaching groups comprised of 6-8 individuals for more focused training and continued learning, with me providing feedback and additional skill development. These groups will typically meet for 4-6 sessions.
